Donald Trump’s election win was a shocker. The U.S. stock market surged surprisingly the day after, but much uncertainty remains about how Trump’s policies will take shape and when the seven-year economic recovery will give way to a recession.
Andrew Chamberlain, chief economist at careers site Glassdoor, recently identified 11 jobs that historically have more security during a recession. In many cases, these positions are in industries like government and healthcare, where employment patterns are not closely linked to business-cycle fluctuations.
